I stand here before you in all my glory,
And still you disbelieve !
I fan out my wings and move the wind,
Do senses then deceive ?

You feel my breath, and smell it too !
Yet you're still filled with doubt.
Are you a sentient creature man ?
Or just a sodden lout ?

The breach between our lives is much,
Your own are so damned short.
We wander about the heavens above,
You scratch your lives from earth.

So rarely do you raise your eyes,
To SEE what's in the sky.
You're focused only on your shoes,
Such wonders pass you by.

Those brief and rare encounters,
Are passed off as dreams and fancy
Denial of life's wondrous things
Or found to be too chancy.

So quiet desperation, holds,
Your lives within its claws.
You shudder at the fear of death,
At its approaching maw.

So why not revel in your lives,
Though short they burn so bright.
Around us all is darkness, yet
You fill it up with light.

Cast off your dour faces,
Raise up your gaze in joy.
Observe us soaring in the skies,
Yell out. We'll hear. "Ahoy !"

We're eager to be social,
One can't have enough friends.
Remembering each other long,
After we've found our ends.

So when you're sleeping in the sand,
Our good times I'll recall.
And smile for your memory,
Yes you, you're warts and all.

So break out past your paradigms,
Let's fill the world with laughter.
Believe in us or doubt us,
We're here and we're hereafter.
